The palette for this kit came from a visit to Jim Thorpe, PA, a mountain town filled with wonderfully restored homes from the 1800's.  A lovely old window with lace curtains and flowers provided the inspiration.  You can get it in the kit.  And theme came from a visit to a local nursery filled with wonderful winter kale.  Hence Winter Garden. Yesterday I planned to work on a new personal use kit but I ended up creating some new commercial use designer resources.  Steampunk 2 contains 7 rather elegant steampunk elements all created at 300 dpi.

And the wood overlays are pictures that I took and personally extracted of a different tree bark.  These are great not just for adding wood texture but also for adding some interesting original textures and depth of a wide variety of papers and elements.  When I create papers, I love using multiple layers with many different blending modes and opacities.  Some of the layers are barely visible but the end result is a paper with a lot of interest and depth to it.

I want to apologize for the delay in getting these photos up.  I'm just back from a wonderful week's vacation in Hawaii with my daughters. This is the first vacation that just the three of us have taken together since they became adults and what a wonderful time we had. We stayed in Honolulu and took full advantage of the great weather and plethora of things to do. We went jet skiing, parasailing, swimming with the wild spinner dolphins and sea turtles, and had a Segway tour of the area.  Combined with great meals, lounging by the pool, trolley rides and shopping, it truly was a vacation to remember.

So on to sharing some great layouts.

Many of the designs are created from photographs that I took during the winter last year. Here in the Philadelphia, PA area, we had record snowfalls.  I remember at the very beginning of winter, saying, "I hope I get some good snow pictures this year."  I should have known better than to say that.  We had snow even with the bottom of the window sill!  But yes, I did get great pictures and this kit is a testiment to that.  I also some included some creations from one of my very favorite photography spots: Morris Arboretum. The two little houses were photographed in their garden railway exhibit.  The detail in these little places, measuring about a foot high is amazing.
